We pray for those who have no bread to eat
We pray for hungry children crying in the street.
Lord, touch us when we know of scenes like this,
And warm our hearts to see naught's more amiss
With those to whom we give when they’re in need...
The poor to clothe and hungry homes to feed.
We pray for those who lie on beds of pain,
Whose hope lies low of finding health again.
Grant them Thy peace, Lord; and to those who stand
Before the parting veil, stretch forth Thy hand,
So they may rest within Thy arms that night,
And help them through that last veil to Light.
We pray for those, who, lonely on Life’s way,
Of friends bereft, endure to meet with grace each day.
In solitude their joys and griefs they bear,
For there are none with whom their thoughts they share.
And as for our friends, so for these we pray,
Who’ve none to pray for them along their way.
