How Wonderful The Night

"The heavens declareth the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handywork."    Psalms 19:1
O! How wonderful the night, bright with stars:
Silver sequins on a field of blue;
A mantle in its amethystine hue...
How wonderful the night!

O, how wonderful the night, dark with clouds...
With vast and mighty overshadowing wings.
The earth is hushed for what the darkness brings.
How wonderful the night!

O, how wonderful the night so splayed with  light...
Fiery arrows impelled from giant bows;
And flaming whips that lash at unseen foes!
How wonderful the night.

O, how wonderful the night when storm has passed...
Soft clouds begin to dry the drops of rain;
And moon emerges shedding light again.
How wonderful the night!
